Engineering excellence,
on every ocean.
From race-winning performance engineering to naval architecture and full vessel systems integration, our technical team brings deep expertise across every discipline of modern yacht design and operation.

Built to win
Our racing consultants combine competitive sailing experience with engineering rigour to deliver measurable performance gains. Whether preparing for an offshore race, a grand prix circuit event, or a round-the-world campaign, we cover every detail.
Performance Optimisation & CFD
Vessel assessment covering sail trim, weight distribution, polar analysis, and speed targets. CFD-informed hydrodynamic analysis of hull, keel, and appendage design to identify drag sources and model improvements.
Rigging & Deck Hardware
Rig tuning, load calculations, rod and wire rigging solutions, block and winch specification, running and standing rigging design for racing yachts.
Race Analysis & Data
Post-race data review, competitor benchmarking, tactical debrief support, onboard instrumentation, sensor integration, and performance trend reporting across a season or campaign.
Race Logistics
Campaign planning, freight and shipping coordination, entry management, on-site logistics, spare parts strategy, and crew travel.

Precision control under load
We design, specify, and commission hydraulic systems and PLC control platforms for sailing and motor yachts. From deck machinery and sail handling to integrated control logic, we deliver systems built for reliability and performance.
Hydraulic Systems Design
Hydraulic steering, sail handling, stabiliser systems, and deck machinery. Schematic design through to commissioning.
PLC Control Systems
Programmable logic controller design, panel building, sensor integration, and control system commissioning for onboard hydraulic and mechanical systems.

The engineering beneath the waterline
From main engine installations to complex propulsion systems, our mechanical team manages specification, procurement oversight, installation supervision, and commissioning of all mechanical systems aboard motor and sailing yachts.
Engines & Generators
Main propulsion engine installation, generator sets, and exhaust system design for both new build and refit projects.
Watermakers
Reverse osmosis system selection, installation, plumbing, and commissioning for offshore and coastal use.
Stabilisers
Gyroscopic and fin stabiliser system specification, installation, and sea trial commissioning.
Propulsion Systems
Shaft lines, CPP and FPP propellers, sail drives, pod drives, bow and stern thrusters, and gearbox selection.

Intelligent integration
The modern superyacht is as much a technology platform as a vessel. We specify and oversee the integration of audio-visual, IT networking, and vessel automation systems to deliver seamless, reliable onboard experiences for owners and guests.
Audio Visual
Cinema rooms, multizone audio, outdoor entertainment, display systems, and sky lounge AV integration.
IT, Networking & Connectivity
Structured cabling, managed switching, Wi-Fi planning, VLAN segmentation, firewalls, remote monitoring, Starlink, VSAT, 4G/5G bonding, and crew/guest network separation.
Automation
Crestron, Lutron, Savant, and custom PLC-based systems for lighting, HVAC, blinds, access control, and bilge monitoring.
Where design ends and operation begins
There is a well-populated field of naval architects and design consultancies producing rig, keel and appendage work for performance yachts, and we are not one of them. Owen Clarke, Lateral, Brookes Bell and their peers do that work and do it well.
What sits between a completed design and a yacht that sails to it is a different discipline, and it is the one that tends to go unmanaged. A carbon rig arrives from the spar maker with a tuning matrix and an installation sequence; somebody has to commission it, load it in stages, and correlate the rig tensions against the designer's numbers before the first offshore passage. A keel modification needs class approval, a structural submission, a yard capable of the work and an inspection regime that catches a fault while the yacht is still in the shed. Appendage work needs to be specified precisely enough to tender, and tendered widely enough to price.
That is the work we do. The design authority stays with the designer; the engineering judgement about whether what arrived matches what was specified sits with the owner's team, and it is not a judgement the yard or the supplier can be asked to make about their own work.
How technical work is scoped and priced
Most technical consultancy is engaged in one of three shapes. A defined piece of work with a deliverable, such as a structural submission, a stability review, a rig commissioning plan or a systems specification for tender, is quoted on a fixed fee against a scope agreed in advance. Ongoing support across a season or a build runs on a day rate against an agreed envelope. And a second opinion on somebody else's design, quote or failure is normally a short fixed-fee piece, because the owner needs an answer rather than a relationship.
The director rate is GBP 125 an hour and specialist day rates are quoted against the discipline. Weather routing runs at GBP 325 a day for twice-daily routing. We publish these because a firm that will not indicate a rate before a meeting is usually pricing the client rather than the work.
Two constraints are worth stating. We do not sell equipment and take no commission from any supplier, which means a specification from us is not a route to a particular product. And we will decline work where the honest answer is that the existing design is sound and the money is better spent elsewhere, which happens more often than owners expect on performance programmes.
